About Thai Spirit Sacrifice Doll or Tuk-ka-ta-suea-ka-baan.
Literal translation is: Doll (Tuk-ta) losing (suea) its head
(ka-baan).
Traditionally, the spirit sacrifice doll is used as offering
doll for bad fortune/mishaps. The head of the doll is
broken from its body as a sacrifice such that the bad
fortune/mishaps would be passed on to the doll instead of
staying within the household.
Male figurine is holding offering such as chicken or fish as
offering. Female figurine is holding baby as offering so
that the misfortune/mishaps would be passed on to the doll and
her own real baby would be safe.
